Laura Rafecas (Barcelona, 1989) begins her violin studies at the age of seven. When she’s 14, she starts her Bachelor studies at “Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu” (Barcelona), with mr. Evelio Tieles. Graduating at the age of 18 (2007, Excellent), Laura moves to The Netherlands, where she graduates in her second Bachelor at Codarts, Hogeschool voor de Kunsten (Rotterdam, 2009. Excellent) and is accepted for the Master in Performance studies. In June 2011, again with an Excellent, Laura graduates in her Master.
Her performing career starts at the age of 13, performing all over Catalunya: Violin and Piano Duo, other chamber music ensembles, as a soloist (Bach’s concerto in A minor, 2007; LSJO Amikejo, 2012). She has won several prizes in Catalunya (soloist and chamber music), such as Concurs d’Interpretació Musical Vila de Salou (2002 and 2004) and Concurs de Música de Cambra de Castellterçol, 2005. Orchestra has also been always part of her musical life (Jove Orquestra Nacional de Catalunya, Orquestra del Conservatori del Liceu, Codarts Symphony Orchestra, Orquestra de Cambra del Penedès…).
Laura’s main project is the duo with the pianist Roderigo Robles (since 2007). They have played in many stages around The Netherlands and being part of concertseries like “Concerten op de Deel” (three concerts per year), Hillegondakerk concerten (Rotterdam, HIllegersberg), lunchconcerts at De Oosterpoort (Groningen), Theater de Tobbe, Muziekgebouw Eindhoven, or other stages like Oude Kerk Zoetermeer, Dorpskerk Spijkenisse… In 2015 the Duo performed in Spain as well: first in Vilafranca del Penedès (Barcelona), as part of the chamber music concerts of the year 2015, and in Altea (Alicante).
